Bad sign = abandoned house w/ phone books piling up outside, broken windows unfixed for years, weeds, dead trees leaning and the inside seemingly deserted as fast as possible — left furniture, books, photographs and all. At one moment the front door was open, giving neighbors hopeful optimism of someone finally taking responsibility for the property. Still ajar the next morning, it remained such for another full day and night tempting mischief. The door is now closed.
